Our practice is an self-reliant practice entirely owned by optometrists and optical technicians and has been providing eye care to the local community since 1957. Linda Haywood, who is therapeutically qualified, commenced active with us in 2006 and is a partner after the retirement of Ross Harris in 2008. Dina Anastas started at Harris Blake Parsons in 2007 as a qualified Optical Technician and became the sixth partner in the history of the practice upon retirement of Terry Blake in 2013. Linda is from the first graduating class of the five year optometry course at The University of Melbourne. She completed her final year with three beginning class honors. The five year course includes the therapeutic component that previously needed to be completed after graduation. Her five year Bachelor of Optometry course included therapeutics which enables her to prescribe medications for ocular needs. She has worked at two practices prior to commencing work at Harris, Blake and Parsons in September 2013. She is enjoying the personalized environment and the emphasis on patient care. Stephanie enjoys the packed scope of optometry practice and has particular interest in treating eye diseases. This included a therapeutics qualification enabling her to prescribe ocular medications. As piece of the course she visited South Africa and had an outstanding experience doing clinical work on a health train which traveled through more rural parts of the country. We prescribe relevant visual aids and therapies to enhance the temporary lifestyles of our patients. At Harris Blake Parsons we are continually developing our clinical and technical skills to ensure the delivery of a professional level of optometric eye protection to our patients and the community. Behind completing her 4 year apprenticeship at MIT as a qualified Optical Technician, she worked for many Optical groups and independent practices over the years. Starting at Harris Blake Parsons in 2007 on a part-time basis, she quickly progressed to a fulltime managers' role and became the sixth partner in February 2013.
